Sqn Cook off 2010
On wednesday 24th february the SQN held another cook off, we had five teams take part each team had between five and six cadets. Each team had to produce a three course meal which had to be cooked on a Trangia, each course was marked out of 10 on flavour, presentation, creativity, hygiene and knife skills. Each team had just 20 minutes per course, Everyone took the competition very seriously and everyone wanted to win! The winning team was team cauilflower, well done to cdt pudner, cdt bibby, cdt white, cdt wrobuel, cdt risley and cdt foster.

First Aid course
St Johns Lifesaver Plus
The Squadron held a first aid course at RAF St Mawgan on Saturday 30th January and Sunday 31st January,
Around 20 cadets, new and senior ones were all trained to conduct CPR, put someone in the recovery position and treat many other injuries. They all had a great time at the base and we are looking forward to hearing the result of the assessments. A very big thank you to CI Basher, FO Blackbourne & CI Wyness for making the weekend a great success.
Bag Pack at Sainsburys
Well done to everyone who helped out at the Squadron's Bag Pack at Sainsburys on Saturday 19th December, the total raised was
£329.49!!!
A fantastic result for a days effort, decisions are being made on how the money will be spent, a huge Thank You to everyone who turned up, cadets and staff.
Surfing Day
The Squadrons first Surfing Day took place on Sunday 13th December, and was a huge success. Cadets from Newquay, St Blazey, Saltash and Plymouth took part in a surfing lesson on Fistral Beach followed by climbing at RAF St Mawgan.
Thanks go out to Fg Off Blackbourn for organising the day, SaltAir Adventure for providing the surf lessons, and all the other members of staff for thier support.

Survival School Equipment Section
The Survival Equipment Section from RAF St Mawgan came down to Newquay Squadron on 9th December to show us some different types of survival equipment. It was a very hands-on night which was great fun, especially with everyone looking so silly! Thanks go to the two RAF personnel who made it such a great night!

Kayaking Sessions
Kayaking pool sessions have been running for a few weeks now and is proving to be a popular activity, with six cadets attending each week all having a great time! Details will be taken on Wednesdays for Saturday sessions. If you are coming Kayaking then remember it is £5 and you will need an ACF13.

Squadron Dinner 2009
The annual Squadron Dinner took place on the 14th November, and it was a great night with wonderful food, good company, lots of laughs and an awsome disco afterwards!
