First Class Training

If you decide you like the Air Training Corps and join up, you will start your journey with your First Class training. This includes lessons in eight subjects and a brief discussion to check your understanding. The eight subjects you will study are:

The Air Training Corps

The Royal Air Force

History of Flight

The Rifle

Airmanship 1

Map Reading

Basic Radio Communications

Initial Expedition Training

You will also be taught basic Drill movements and marching so you will be able to join in on parades each night.

When you have passed all your First Class Training you will become a First Class cadet, and can progress on through the rest of the classifications, which are Leading Cadet, Senior Cadet and Staff Cadet. When you have completed all of this training you will have gained a BTEC in Aviation Studies, a fantastic addition to your CV!
